About her studio
Maria offers private violin and viola lessons at her studio in Durham. She is experienced at solo, chamber, orchestra repertoire, and much more.
She is dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging learning environment where students build confidence, develop strong musicianship, and cultivate a lifelong love of music.
I introduce beginning students to music reading and performance from the very first lesson, using a balanced approach that incorporates methods such as Essential Elements and Suzuki. Families are encouraged to learn basic musical concepts alongside their students, helping foster confidence and support at home.
As students progress, we explore a diverse range of repertoire that builds technique, strengthens music reading, and encourages expressive, confident performance.
About her teaching
Beyond helping the student developing strong musical skills, my goal is to additionally inspire a lifelong love of music while helping students build confidence, discipline, creativity, and responsibility. I strive to create a supportive environment where music becomes a meaningful part of family life.
Throughout the year, students have opportunities to perform in studio recitals, celebrating their progress with family and friends. These performances build confidence, encourage artistic growth, and remind students that making music is meant to be shared and enjoyed.
